From First Reports to Shared Learning: SMEs Showcase Their Sustainability Reporting Experience

How did SMEs experience sustainability reporting for the first time? Discover their challenges, lessons learned, and practical advice for other businesses.

EFRAG is pleased to release a series of nine testimonial videos featuring European SMEs that used the VSME standard for the first time to prepare their sustainability reports.

The videos provide practical insights into why companies decided to report, the challenges they encountered, and the lessons they learned throughout the process. They feature preparers from a range of sectors, including retail, manufacturing, IT consulting, business and professional services, and data processing, across several EU Member States.

Available in their original languages with English subtitles, the videos are published on EFRAG's Vimeo, where users can also benefit from AI-powered translation features.

Have you also prepared a VSME sustainability report? Share your experience and help shape the future of SME sustainability reporting in Europe!

EFRAG invites SMEs that have prepared a sustainability report using the VSME standard for the 2024 or 2025 reporting years to share their reports and contribute to the future development of voluntary sustainability reporting in Europe.

By sharing their reports, companies will help identify emerging reporting practices, showcase good examples, and support other SMEs embarking on their sustainability journey. The insights collected will contribute to the VSME Ecosystem 2026 initiative, with key findings to be published in Autumn 2026.

Your report does more than showcase your company's sustainability progress: it helps build practical guidance for thousands of SMEs across Europe.

Submission deadline: 31 July 2026
