EFRAG Opens Call for Candidates to Join its Sustainability Reporting Technical Expert Group

EFRAG has opened applications for its Sustainability Reporting Technical Expert Group (SR TEG), inviting professionals with expertise across the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) domain. Successful candidates will be part of EFRAG SR TEG, which provides technical advice to the EFRAG Sustainability Reporting Board (EFRAG SRB) on the draft European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) and implementation support. Applications close on 1 March 2026.

Candidate profile

EFRAG is seeking candidates from a wide range of professional backgrounds, including academia, auditing, banking, consultancy, insurance, consumer organisations, SMEs, NGOs, trade unions, and corporate preparers. Investors or financial analysts are particularly encouraged to apply. Specialised expertise in the following areas is highly valued: biodiversity, value-chain impact measurement, social issues, and ESG reporting standards.

Candidates should have experience with:

  • The 2023 European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) and the VSME.

  • Draft simplified ESRS and the ESRS simplification process.

  • International sustainability reporting standards referenced in CSRD, with practical application experience.

Members are expected to act independently, in a personal capacity and commit to the European public interest.

Application process & timeline

EFRAG emphasises achieving geographical balance, gender diversity, and professional variety in selecting members. To be eligible for EFRAG SR TEG membership, candidates must hold a nationality from the European Economic Area. The interviews will take place online between March and April 2026.

Appointments and terms

All candidates will be informed of the outcome following the EFRAG SRB’s decision. Appointments begin on 1 May 2026, with terms of one or two years. Reappointments may extend up to six years.
