Changes to the composition of the EFRAG Board and EFRAG TEG
The EFRAG General Assembly has appointed Chris de Noose as an EFRAG Board member on one of the banking seats effective from 12 April, with Jorge Gil Lozano ceasing to be an EFRAG Board member as of the same date. Chris’s appointment is until 31 October 2017, from when the composition of the EFRAG Board will be renewed. On 7 June EFRAG issued a call for candidates to serve on the EFRAG Board from 1 November 2017.
The EFRAG Board appointed in its 31 May meeting Ana Cortez as an EFRAG TEG member effective from 12 June. Ana replaces Christian Chiarasini who resigned from EFRAG TEG as per the end of May.
EFRAG Board President Jean-Paul Gauzès said, “I am very pleased that Chris, Managing Director of the ESBG (The European Savings and Retail Banking Group) has agreed to serve as an EFRAG Board member in one of the banking seats. We are very appreciative of Jorge Gil Lozano’s constructive contributions to EFRAG during so many years, first on the EFRAG Supervisory Board and then on the EFRAG Board.”
Andrew Watchman thanked Christian Chiarisini and welcomed Ana Cortez: “Christian contributed to EFRAG for more than three years and his broad experience and wise insights will be greatly missed. I warmly welcome Ana to EFRAG TEG. Her financial institutions and financial instruments expertise will be of great benefit, especially in view of EFRAG’s forthcoming endorsement advice on IFRS 17 and our research project on the impairment and recycling of equity instruments”.
