Michael Brücks started his career at KPMG Germany’s National Office in 1994. After one year as Head of Group Accounting at Bewag (today Vattenfall Germany), he joined the Accounting Standards Committee of Germany in 2000, spending two years as Project Manager and two years as Technical Director. Since 2004, Michael has been VP Principles, Policies & Research in Deutsche Telekom’s group accounting department. In this role, he is group-wide responsible for all accounting policy decisions, the implementation of new IFRS and purchase price allocations.
Michael is co-editor of a comprehensive commentary on IFRS in the German language. He is an active member of the Sounding Board of BusinessEurope. For more than ten years Michael was a member of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Telekom Pension Fund and for even more than ten years a member of the Audit Committee of Crnogorski Telekom (Montenegro). He holds a degree in business administration from the University of Tübingen.
