With a career fully dedicated to accounting, Maria has built extensive experience across auditing and financial reporting. She began her professional career at Arthur Andersen as an auditor, before joining BBVA in 2000, where she has since held a range of roles within the accounting function.

She currently serves as Head of Accounting and Prudential Policies at the BBVA Group, where she is responsible for developing corporate accounting policies used in the preparation of the Group’s consolidated financial statements.
