Jannis Bischof is Full Professor at the University of Mannheim, where he holds the Chair of Accounting. His research focuses on the intersection of financial accounting and banking, including the role of public information in bank supervision, banks’ disclosure incentives, and the relationship between disclosure and risk-taking. His work has been published in leading journals such as the Journal of Accounting Research, Journal of Business Finance & Accounting, and Accounting in Europe.
Before joining Mannheim in 2015, he was Professor of Accounting and Finance at Goethe University Frankfurt and a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He holds a PhD and a master’s degree from the University of Mannheim and completed research visits at Harvard University and ESSEC Business School. He has also worked with KPMG in accounting advisory services for the financial industry.
