Chrystelle Richard is Associate Professor of Accounting at ESSEC Business School (France). She is a member of the EFRAG Sustainability Reporting Board and of the Autorité des normes comptables (ANC), the French accounting standard-setter, where she previously chaired the Sustainability Reporting Commission. She is also a member of the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB), with a particular involvement in sustainability assurance standard-setting.
Dr. Richard teaches financial accounting, auditing and sustainability reporting at ESSEC across the Master in Management, executive education and doctoral programmes. Her research focuses on corporate governance and the regulation of economic activities, particularly in the areas of auditing, financial reporting and sustainability reporting. She has published in leading academic journals and received the ESSEC Foundation's Professor Teaching Award (2021) and Jury's Special Prize (2025). She is a former student of the École Normale Supérieure and holds a PhD in Management Studies.
