On 21 April 2021, the European Commission (EC) adopted a legislative proposal for a Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) which, if approved, will entrust, to EFRAG, the role of technical advisor to the EC to develop draft European Reporting Sustainability Standards and to conduct impact analyses.

At the EFRAG General Assembly held on 21 January 2022, the revised EFRAG Statutes and Internal Rules were approved to include a sustainability reporting pillar alongside the existing financial reporting pillar, mirroring its governance. The EFRAG Sustainability Reporting TEG will provide technical advice on the draft EU Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) to the EFRAG Sustainability Reporting Board.  The EFRAG Sustainability Reporting TEG will undertake this based on its own professional judgment, arguments, technical analysis resulting from its technical expertise and applying EFRAG’s due process.

EFRAG Sustainability Reporting TEG Chair
The Chair of the EFRAG Sustainability Reporting TEG is responsible for directing and managing all of EFRAG’s sustainability reporting technical activities. The EFRAG Sustainability Reporting TEG Chair participates in all EFRAG Sustainability Reporting Board meetings and is an observer in the EFRAG Financial Reporting TEG meetings.
The position is expected to be full time and remunerated at a level which corresponds  to the responsibilities and complexities of this position.

EFRAG Sustainability Reporting TEG members
EFRAG is calling for candidates for members of the EFRAG Sustainability Reporting TEG with a wide range of backgrounds. Candidates are chosen primarily based on their technical sustainability reporting competences, subject matter knowledge and practical experience. A high priority will be given to achieving a broad geographical spread and a proper balance in gender, professional and stakeholder background.
Members of the EFRAG Sustainability Reporting TEG receive no financial compensation.
