Roman Sauer

​Roman Sauer started his career at Allianz SE in 2006 within the Group Accounting Policy Department and headed the Planning and Performance Management Department of Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty in Paris from 2008 - 2011. Roman Sauer has held the position of Head of Allianz Accounting Policy Department within Group Accounting & Reporting from 2011 to 2015 and provided IFRS Accounting Guidance and Training for the entire Allianz Group. In addition he was in charge of implementing new IFRS Standards within Allianz Group. As of September 2015, he took over as Acting Head of Group Accounting & Reporting, reporting to the Group CFO. As the Allianz Chief Accountant he oversees the Group Accounting function including consolidation, investment accounting, accounting policies and external and internal financial reporting including regulatory reporting for Allianz consolidated financial statements and the parent company Allianz SE. Roman Sauer is member of the IFRS committee at the Accounting Standards Committee of Germany (ASCG). He holds a PhD in Business Administration from the University of Munich. Since 2007 he is external lecturer for the Executive Master of Insurance Program, University of Munich (LMU).
