29/07/2016 - EFRAG announces the new composition of its Insurance Accounting Working Group and Financial Instruments Working Group

EFRAG TEG has approved in its July meeting the new composition of the EFRAG Insurance Accounting Working Group and the EFRAG Financial Instruments Working Group effective from 1 September 2016.


​In its July meeting EFRAG TEG approved the new composition of the EFRAG Insurance Accounting Working Group, chaired by EFRAG TEG member Ambrogio Virgilio and the EFRAG Financial Instruments Working Group, chaired by EFRAG TEG member Andrew Spooner. 

EFRAG calls for candidates resulted in a large number of high-quality applications. The new composition of each Working Group was determined based on applicants' expertise and experience, and in order to reflect a balance of professional backgrounds and geographical origin.

EFRAG expresses its great appreciation for the current members of both Working Groups that retire from the groups and is grateful for the valuable contributions these members have made to the discussions in the Working Groups and in advising EFRAG TEG.

The new compositions, effective as of 1 September 2016, are as follows:

The European Commission and the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA), the International Credit Insurance & Surety Association (ICISA), the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), Insurance Europe, the Association of Mutual Insurers and Insurance Cooperatives in Europe (AMICE), and the reinsurance industry have been granted observer status.
