30/09/2011 | European Outreach Meetings on the IASB Agenda Consultation: Invitation to Constituents
EFRAG, in partnership with European National Standard Setters, will organise outreach events on the IASB Agenda Consultation. The events will be held throughout Europe in October and November. A Brussels event will be organised by EFRAG and the European Commission. The purpose of the events is stimulating debate in Europe and collecting European views.
The IASB issued at the end of July its consultation on the IASB agenda. EFRAG issued its Draft Comment Letter on 11 August with a deadline for comment of 15 November. EFRAG engages in outreach events during the consultation period in partnership with the National Standard Setters, aiming at stimulating debate in Europe and collecting European views. The objective of these events is:
To obtain input from European constituents and to understand their main concerns and wishes;
To find out whether EFRAG’s preliminary comments as set out in the letter of 11 August are shared by European constituents;
To obtain feedback on which projects would be of priority for European constituents.
The outreach meetings will be jointly organised with National Standard Setters, and the Brussels meeting with the European Commission, and in close cooperation with the IASB. European constituents are invited to participate. Feedback received from constituents during the outreach meeting will be published in the form of meeting notes on each event on the EFRAG website and on the website of the respective National Standard Setter. The preparations of the outreach meetings are currently underway. As soon as the dates for the individual meetings and locations are confirmed, EFRAG will publish news articles on its website to inform its constituents accordingly.
